- Acting Head of Corporate
Strategy, Development and Business Planning for successful
European wireless operator from start-up to maturity and restructuring. Activities included license bid
preparation, cross functional management of development of detailed
business plan for operating and financing purposes, and special projects
for the board. Special projects included development of fixed/mobile substitution,
organizational restructuring, pricing, branding, new market entry, network
and regulatory strategies, as well as major acquisitions.
- Implementation of Operational
Improvement Programs (combination of balanced
score card and shareholder value approaches) including business unit
profitability and value driver analysis, competitive analysis and benchmarking,
operations improvement, management training, and management reporting
feedback loop in the telecommunications, natural resources, retail, and
software industries.
- Start-up Business Planning
MVNO/ESP: Led the analysis of a start-up business plan for an Mobile Virtual Network Operator and Enhanced Service
Provider for an existing Mobile Operator. Activities included analysis of
publically available companies´ business models and economics (e.g. Virgin
Mobile, Debitel, Tele2, etc.) as well as the
economics of hosting an MVNO/ESP and the stand-alone economics of a
start-up MVNO/ESP.
- International Project Finance: Led project
finance teams for three European PCS start-ups, comprising financing of
over $3 billion, including Project Finance International Deal of the Year
1998. Activities included financing strategy development, project
oversight and management, term sheet and full document negotiation, due
diligence management, and information memorandum development.
- Temporary Restructuring
CEO: Managed legal team, initiation of reorganization strategy,
corporate structure issues, claims analysis/verification, and
reorganization of parent holding company of chapter 11 subsidiaries in
major asbestos bankruptcy.
- Internet/Wireless Data: European
business development for major wireless portal company: led first European
implementation of product suite and assisted in development of strategy,
pricing, partner and client base. Led development and evaluation of “Freeserve” model ISP business plan for extension to
wireless ISP, including detailed industry/economic analysis for a wireless
carrier.
- Corporate and Business Planning for European
PCS start-up including license bid preparation, development of detailed
business plan for operating and financing purposes, and special projects
for management board.

Acquisition Projects for a number of U.S. and international firms
seeking investments in cellular, paging, and wireless cable including
valuation, negotiation, structuring and, due diligence. International
projects have spanned U.S.,
